Charles Berry Wall Art

Charles Berry was born in Missouri and raised in Detroit. He became interested in art at an early age. After successful careers as a graphic arts entrepreneur, and a corporate advertising and marketing executive he turned to painting full time. His paintings capture a rare sense of intimacy and immediacy. He tries to draw people right inside the picture and make them feel as if they are actually there. If he paints an animal, he wants the viewer to feel like they can reach out and touch it; and if it is a landscape, he wants the viewers to feel like they can pick the flowers. Through his graceful, vivid nature paintings, the artist reveals his deep appreciation and fascination of nature. Recalling the ideals and goals of the Hudson River School, Berry strives to evoke the grandeur of nature, and provides a stage for deep contemplation and appreciation of its many qualities - the Hudson River School had the first group of landscape painters in the United States.

The artist is not shy about his mission. He says that humans endowed as the sole protectors of this paradise that they live in, and hopefully he feels he can help people to be more aware of that using his art. Since he left college, Berry has been an avid traveler. His constant state of motion has fueled his artwork. He’s experienced many things in his travels, from petting dolphin from his sailboat where he lived for a year in the Caribbean, to touring the great art museums of Europe. All the observances have been education and food for painting.
