B.J. Zhang Art Prints
The meditative paintings of B.J. Zhang offer the viewer a softer view of reality. Painting with watercolor and acrylic on paper, the artist floats his delicate forms on misty backgrounds. His flowers have a lovely simplicity which bring quietness to a room. Landscapes depict water and sky merging in a type of unity.
Born in China and trained at the distinguished Beijing Film Academy, Zhang is a multi-media artist. Studying painting in Japan and Aboriginal art in Australia, Zhang takes his influences from around the world. His work is in the National Art Gallery in China and he has exhibited extensively throughout Asia, the United States and Australia. Recent shows include solo exhibitions at the Nexus Contemporary Art Center, Atlanta, Georgia, and the McKissick Museum, Columbia, South Carolina. He also created artwork for the 1996 Olympics, held in Atlanta.
Zhang has the ability to visualize a theme in his mind's eye and translate it into an art form. A mere suggestion of subject matter provokes a conversation of color, form and space. Whether it be on paper, canvas, film or as a performance piece for a gallery, Zhang's work never fails to enthrall his audience.
