Kelsey Lynn Hochstatter is an American fine art artist who was born and raised in Amhest, New York. She started sketching things around her at a very young age. Since her family traveled a lot, she got to see a lot more things, covering them in her sketching as well. Kelsey got very much fascinated with the natural world, its diversity and beauty. Her desire to start painting grew gradually, often trying her hand out on different subjects. She started receiving paintings jobs while at a very young age. Her love for art and her wide imaginations enabled her to do things and reach places she could have only dreamt of. Kelsey got so fascinated with painting that she promised herself never to look back. The desire to learn more took her to St. Lawrence University in New York where she majored in Fine Arts and also studied psychology and environmental studies. Later on she worked for the same university as a rock climbing guide. Through that job, she was able to see a lot of beautiful things that she began to capture using a camera she always carried along. She would later use the images in her studio to guide her paintings.
Kelsey gives her art depth, focusing on color, form, texture, and pattern to deliver artwork that reflect a deep understanding of her subjects. Although she likes painting nature, she also covers other subjects. She uses oil paint as her primary medium. Kelsey’s works have been collected by The Venetian Macao, Macau, China; Vintage Senior, Burbank, CA; Kaiser Permanente, Carsen, CA; and more. At the same time she has won several awards, including Frederic Remington Prize in Fine Arts Award, Kerry E. Summers Woman of the Year Award, and Decor Magazine "Artist to watch in 2010."
