Sheila Golden holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from Sonoma State University in California in the School of Visual Arts, New York. She also studied in the New School for Social Research, New York. She participated in art classes with painters Barbara Nechis, Morris Davidson, Wolf Kahn and Robert Burridge. With a professional background in illustration, design, painting and animation, she uses color as a means to express the inspiration and beauty of the natural world. Her images are often abstracted from nature, splashy and loose. She’s been in gallery exhibits in San Francisco, New York City, Sarasota and Santa Fe, Florida and at Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma, California where she was chosen as an artist in residence. His work has been published as in calendars, prints, film, greeting cards, and more.
The artist grew up in the New York area, and by the time she started grade school she was already painting. Her love of animals, color and nature has been reflected in her art, which ranges from watercolor to acrylic, floral to landscapes. Her work can be seen in galleries in Taos, NM and Southwestern Florida and she has shown her original art in New York City and San Francisco. Her art is also in the collection of Whimsy in Sarasota, Florida and the Marietta Museum of Art. Her influences include Kandinsky, Matisse, Van Gogh and Monet. Her floral prints of are available online, through retailers as well as in many art stores. She currently lives in Western Florida, where she does illustration, exhibits and paints.
